Description / Position Overview: In a nutshell, we are dealing with a product we acquired that consists of a mobile app that is powered by a Rails back-end. It is essentially legacy at this point as we are working on a newer replacement platform. However the roll out of that replacement will probably be at least a year and in the meantime we have a userbase that requires stability. Even though we are not doing new feature work, we do have a need to translate content as we deploy in different countries where Anytime Fitness does business and as we add the translations we are seeing performance decreases and loads on our MySql server. We have 2 Rails devs that came with the acquisition but we are positioning them to work on the new platform (we are a .Net shop) and frankly they may not be up to solving the issues. We need a seasoned Rails dev on a short term contract with experience tuning MySql and optimizing performance. Additionally we are running on a very old version of Rails and MySql and would like to bring everything forward for security and compliance reasons as well.
